Enso Village, a Kendal Affiliate life plan community, has announced in a press release the addition of two leaders to its community: Rev. Fa Jun Christopher Real joins as spiritual life director, while Ann Nakiyuka assumes the role of residential care facility for the elderly administrator. In his role, Rev. Fa Real champions spiritual life at Enso Village, integrating Zen philosophies with Kendal Quaker principles. His diverse spiritual background includes roles as a Ch’an Buddhist priest and a leader in Vajrayana practices. His experience with meditation, yoga, and qigong has equipped him to offer spiritual support through practices like the Five Wishes Documents and memorials. Nakiyuka brings expertise as a dedicated RCFE administrator specializing in assisted living and memory care; her years of senior living experience includes operational management and resident care.
Canterbury Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center has appointed pulmonologist M. Taruj Ali, MD, FCCP, FAASM, as the director of its recently opened, highly specialized Ventilator Unit. According to a press release, the skilled nursing center’s 18-bed, in-facility suite is geared to treat patients who are ventilator and tracheostomy dependent or have debilitating respiratory conditions. Board certified in pulmonary diseases, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine, Dr. Ali has 18 years of experience with expertise in managing complex respiratory and sleep disorders. He maintains a private pulmonary practice in Richmond, Virginia, and he is affiliated with Mary Washington Healthcare. Dr. Ali previously served as ICU director and chief of staff at Henrico Doctors Hospital. He was voted as a Top Doc by his peers in Richmond Magazine three years in a row.
Sagewood, a Life Care Services (LCS) community featuring a resort-style setting in Phoenix, has appointed longtime LCS employee Renee Iezzi its human resources director. Iezzi served LCS and its various communities for the past decade in human resources roles and she has more than 20 years of experience in the senior living industry.
Taking on the role of director of nursing at Heritage Pointe of Fort Wayne in Indiana was a homecoming for Shona Kirkpatrick, who previously worked as a floor nurse and as assistant director of nursing at the independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation community. Kirkpatrick is a licensed practical nurse and a registered nurse.
Blakeford Senior Life in Nashville, Tennessee, has hired Carolyn Picton as its new director of sales and marketing, according to a press release. Picton brings a diverse background that spans the pharmaceutical, hospital, and hospitality sectors, and more than 15 years of dedicated experience in senior living.
