ON THE MOVE: Recent Personnel Moves in Senior Living

Ensō Village, a Zen-inspired Kendal life care community in Northern California, has announced in a press release the appointment of David Smart as the community’s new executive director, effective January 2025. With over two decades of experience in senior living and community management, Smart brings a rich background, including his recent role as vice president of operations at Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community in South Carolina and his tenure as president/CEO at Eaton Senior Communities in Colorado.
Mary Rohweder is retiring from her role as marketing and event coordinator at Health Dimensions Group. Mark Self is replacing her with the title of marketing and event specialist.
Heron’s Key, a resort-style senior living community in Gig Harbor, Washington, has appointed Laura Hammond as its new sales and marketing advisor. Hammond has more than 40 years of experience in marketing and sales. She will play a key part in driving the continued growth of Heron’s Key as Phase Two expansion plans are underway.
Kaia Lore has been named community relations director for Clear Creek, an Anthem Memory Care community in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Lore is responsible for community outreach and marketing. She was previously a retail sales associate for Tommy Bahamas in Plano, Texas, and she also served as admission assistant with Stonegate Senior Living in McKinney, Texas.
Mirador, a Corpus Christi, Texas, senior living community, has announced the return of Chuck Childress to the Methodist Retirement Communities family. Childress was COO of MRC before leaving in 2018. He returns as Mirador’s executive director, replacing Deborah Nugent, who will retire at year’s end. Childress previously served as executive director at PineCrest in Lufkin.
