Randy East To Lead Applewood Place, A Juniper Senior Living Community

LAKEWOOD, CO—Juniper Communities is pleased to announce Randy A. East as executive director of Applewood Place, a Juniper senior living community. Located in Lakewood, CO, the senior living community is home to about 110 residents in 65 assisted living units and 42 memory care units.

From the CEO to the caregivers who meet the unique needs of the residents we serve, Juniper’s mission of caring for seniors through love and respect is always present and evident,” expressed East. “I believe that if every decision we make is in the best interest of the resident, then we can’t go wrong.”

East’s career in health care and serving seniors spans 25 very fulfilling years. His senior living roles have included operations leadership, sales and marketing management, and dementia care educator and administration. His most recent adventure included consulting with multiple upscale CCRCs in several states, as well as providing care management for seniors suffering from various forms of dementia. East was also on the board of directors for the Alzheimer’s Association of the National Capital Area, serving as the development and communication committee chairperson for four years.

As to why he was compelled to work in the senior living industry, East said, “I was a teenage caregiver of a grandmother with mixed dementia. In moments of lucidity, she would often tell me I had a healing touch and asked me to go into health care. Now, 25 years later, here I am, doing exactly what I love and what my grandmother envisioned for me—loving and caring for those who need it most.”

East has an education in theology, extensive training as an assisted living administrator and advanced training in dementia pathology, care and best practices.
