Rose Villa Senior Living Board Names Lewis CEO

March 13, 2024

PORTLAND, OR — Rose Villa Senior Living’s board of directors have announced in a press release the appointment of Glen Lewis as its next Chief Executive Officer. Lewis, formerly executive director at WesleyLife’s Edgewater community, will assume his new role on April 2, 2024.

“After a lengthy and thorough search, we’re excited to welcome Glen Lewis as Rose Villa’s next CEO,” said Wade Clowes, Rose Villa’s board president. “Glen’s core values and leadership style make him a clear choice to lead an innovative and forward-looking community like Rose Villa. We’re confident he will uphold the organization’s values and way of life, and continue our mission of supporting older adults so they can live a life of their own choosing — within and outside the community. Rose Villa will continue to serve as an inspiration for what’s possible in senior living.”

“I am deeply honored to have been selected as Rose Villa’s next CEO,” said Lewis. “The community is a blueprint for the next generation of senior housing. The community’s award-winning design and environmentally conscious and sustainable neighborhoods make it a great place to live and work, but it’s the people who make Rose Villa extraordinary. Everyone is welcome, respected, and honored for their individuality. I look forward to getting to know residents and their families and am excited to work alongside Rose Villa’s dedicated leaders, staff, and board members.”

Lewis joins Rose Villa after nearly 20 years in the senior living and hospitality industries. Previously, he was executive director at an independent senior-living community in Portland and at Seattle-based Aegis Senior Living. Lewis was also general manager for various hotels in Wyoming, Colorado, and Oregon.

Rose Villa’s board of directors was tasked in July to appoint a next-generation leader to continue guiding the life-plan community’s mission. Lewis replaces Vassar Byrd, who served as CEO for 17 years. During her tenure, Rose Villa completed a 10-year master plan and redevelopment, which earned recognition and industry accolades for its award-winning design, environmentally conscious construction, and innovative approach to sustainable living, including two zero-energy neighborhoods and a gray-water reclamation system, ROSIE (Recycled Organic Stuff is Everywhere).
