United Church Homes Earns Great Place to Work Certification

September 22, 2026

MARION, Ohio — United Church Homes has been certified as a Great Place to Work by Great Place to Work Institute and Activated Insights, its senior care partner.

The certification process included a survey of employees across United Church Homes locations in 15 states and evaluated more than 60 aspects of the employee experience, including employees’ sense of purpose, confidence in their work and perceptions of the organization’s workplace culture.

Certification is based on employee feedback and experiences across positions and job functions.

“At United Church Homes, everything we accomplish begins with our team,” said Kenneth Young, president and CEO of United Church Homes. “This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects what our team members themselves are saying about their experience. We know that when people feel valued, supported and connected to a purpose larger than themselves, they can do their very best work.”

United Church Homes said its workplace culture is also supported by professional development opportunities, flexible work practices where appropriate and employee well-being initiatives.

“We work intentionally to create an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, valued and empowered to grow,” said Scott Slutz, chief resource officer for United Church Homes. “Whether someone works directly with residents, supports our communities behind the scenes or serves in a corporate role, every person contributes to our mission and has the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.”

United Church Homes serves nearly 7,000 residents across more than 90 communities in 15 states and two Native American nations. The organization ranked as the 19th-largest multisite nonprofit senior living organization in the 2025 LeadingAge Ziegler 200.
