SAN DIEGO–Through leveraging data from an analytics solution from PointClickCare, Vienna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a California-based skilled nursing facility, was recognized by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) at the annual convention this week. The skilled nursing facility was recognized for its achievements through the Quality Initiative Recognition Program.
The program honors member facilities for their individual work in achieving AHCA/NCAL Quality Initiative goals. To receive recognition, facilities must meet at least four out of the eight quality initiatives. Vienna was able to meet or exceed six of the eight goals, in areas including: lowering the use of antipsychotic drug use, hospitalizations for long-term residents, successful discharges for short-term patients, functional improvement, staff stability, and customer satisfaction.
To meet its goals, Vienna leveraged data from PointClickCare’s cloud-based analytics that gives providers real-time MDS verification and quality improvement data at any point in the assessment cycle. The tool provided Vienna’s clinical staff the actionable insights needed to proactively improve resident care and address risk management implications before they resulted in a problem.
“We’re dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our patients and residents,” said Corey Wright, administrator, Vienna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. “To do this, we have to frequently monitor and respond to the data available to us. Given the fluid nature of the data, adopting technology solutions such as PointClickCare’s analytics tool is essential to continuous improvement and delivering patient-centered care.”
“As the industry embraces value-based healthcare, hospitals, ACOs, and large physician groups are increasingly relying on data, insights, and quality measures for the assurances they need from a skilled nursing facility that it is able to provide the care the patient requires,” said Russ DePriest, senior vice president and general manager, skilled nursing division, PointClickCare. “By leveraging data and insights, Vienna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was not only able to achieve several quality measures, but clearly demonstrate its potential as a preferred partner of choice.”
Located in Lodi, CA, Vienna Nursing and Rehabilitation is a five-star independently owned and operated nursing and rehabilitation center.
