Sunrise Senior Living Names Paula Adams Chief Clinical Officer

Sunrise Senior Living, a leading provider of senior living services, announced today the appointment of Paula Adams as the company’s next chief clinical officer. In this role, Ms. Adams will be responsible for Sunrise’s clinical operations to include leading care and wellness programs, clinical informatics, and clinical education.

Ms. Adams joins Sunrise with more than 30 years of diverse healthcare management experience. Most recently, Ms. Adams served as chief clinical officer for Senior Lifestyle Corporation, where she was responsible for all clinical operations across 180 communities providing assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing as well as the company’s compliance and programming teams. She played a critical role in designing and implementing value-based ancillary services to positively impact operations to include home care, hospice, pharmacy and therapy services.

Previously, Ms. Adams served as a regional vice president for Brookdale where she managed their home health business in the west division and led a national operational model change initiative to improve the customer experience, clinical quality outcomes and financial performance. She has held a variety of operational leadership roles for HCR Manor Care, Tender Loving Care, Housecall Medical Resources as well as Apria Healthcare among other companies after starting her career with Nutrisystem where she designed nursing training and corporate policies and procedures for its growing franchise model, as well as all staff recruitment and development programs.

A registered nurse, Ms. Adams received her master’s degree from Northwestern University after earning her bachelor of science in genetics and chemistry from The Ohio State University.

Ms. Adams officially began her role at Sunrise on November 29, 2021.
