Catalyst Power Launches Energy Service for Senior Living and Care Communities
October 21, 2026
NEW YORK — Catalyst Power Holdings LLC has launched an energy service designed for senior living and care operators, combining customized electricity supply with onsite power generation systems that the company finances, builds and operates.
The new service, Catalyst Power for Senior Living & Care, is available to independent living, assisted living, memory care, life plan communities and skilled nursing facilities across the company’s service area in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.
The offering centers on combined heat and power (CHP), also known as cogeneration, which generates electricity and captures heat for other uses. Catalyst Power says the technology is particularly suited to senior living communities because of their continuous demand for electricity, heating and hot water. Solar power and energy storage options are also available where site conditions and energy requirements support their use.
“We’ve been serving this sector for years, and we understand that these buildings don’t behave like other commercial properties,” said Gabriel Phillips, CEO of Catalyst Power. “A senior living community runs domestic hot water, laundry, heating, and cooling around the clock, every day of the year, and is oftentimes required to maintain ambient temperatures within strict ranges.”
According to the company, the service is intended to help operators manage energy expenses without the upfront capital investment typically associated with onsite generation systems. Catalyst Power combines customized retail electricity pricing with equipment it finances, owns and operates at customer properties.
The launch comes as operators contend with rising utility expenses and other operating costs. According to a report cited by Catalyst Power, U.S. utilities filed for $18.6 billion in rate increases during the first half of 2026.
Catalyst Power serves more than 8,500 commercial and industrial customers across multiple sectors. The company operates in 12 states and 41 utility territories.
