Charter Senior Living Names Mathews SVP of Finance and Investments to Support Ongoing Growth

Patrick MathewsNAPERVILLE, IL — Charter Senior Living has named Patrick Mathews Senior Vice President of Finance and Investments, effective January 15, 2024.

Mathews joins Charter Senior Living with more than 15 years of experience in investment and operational analysis, having spent much of the last decade focused on the senior living industry. Mathews was most recently with AVIVA Senior Living as the Executive Vice President of Finance and Business Development. Prior to that, he was the Director of Portfolio Management at The RMR Group, where he oversaw their healthcare-focused real estate investment trust. Before that, he spent nearly four years at Benchmark Senior Living.

“Patrick’s extensive work on both the operations and investment side of the business provides him with a unique perspective that allows the ability to connect with a wide range of key members across the industry,” shared Charter Senior Living President and COO Jayne Sallerson in a press release. “We are thrilled to have him on our leadership team as Charter Senior Living continues to expand its national footprint.”

In his new role, Mathews will oversee all financial and operational key performance indicators and analyses. He will also continue creating new investment partnerships to expand and enhance Charter’s operations through acquisitions and new investment partnerships.

Based in Naperville, Illinois, Charter Senior Living owns and manages more than 60 senior living communities throughout the U.S., offering independent-living, assisted-living and memory-care services. Charter is a family-owned business with an executive team that has more than 100 combined years of experience in the senior housing industry.
