Collingswood Introduces New Secured Memory Care Neighborhood

Collingswood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center has introduced a secured memory care neighborhood in partnership with Holy Cross Health. Dr. Bharati Srivastava, a geriatrician at Holy Cross Health Partners at Asbury Methodist Village is overseeing the new specialty initiative at the Rockville skilled nursing facility.

Collingswood’s memory care neighborhood features 24-hour skilled nursing services, comprehensive innovative treatments and structured daily activities. A high ratio of caregivers to residents allows for more one-to-one interaction, increased supervision, and greater peace of mind for families and loved ones. It is geared for those with various stages of dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Collingswood developed its memory care program with Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports the facility. “Collingswood is pleased to partner with Holy Cross Health to meet area demands for memory care programming,” said Marquis’ Nikki Gachot, regional director of market development. “Dr. Srivastava brings a wealth of expertise in geriatric medicine and compassion to her role as medical director of the facility’s memory care neighborhood. Collingswood is fortunate to have her.”

Dr. Srivastava possesses more than 25 years of experience in geriatric medicine and has received numerous awards for her work. She is a fellow of the American Geriatric Society and the American College of Physicians.

Collingswood memory care residents benefit from psychology and psychiatry services, family support services, and rehabilitation and cognitive therapies. A robust life enrichment program, available seven days per week, features a range of therapeutic activities, including gardening, art, music, sensory activities, reminiscence therapy and intergenerational programming.
