By Jim Nelson | January 16, 2024

Cosmopolitan, Today, AARP, Variety, E!. Everyone wants to know: Will there be a Golden Bachelorette? The first season of The Golden Bachelor ended January 4, 2024, with more than 5 million people watching 72-year-old Gerry Turner marrying 70-year-old Theresa Nist on ABC-TV. Following that episode, we got the answer to the question on the minds and in the hearts of Americans everywhere.

Sort of.

Throughout last October and November, dating reality television series The Golden Bachelor, a spin-off of The Bachelor featuring seniors, enthralled several million Americans week after week. It all wrapped up just after Thanksgiving when Turner proposed to Nist. Then, on January 4, ABC aired their wedding on live TV. And even before the wedding episode, the internet was all abuzz with questions about a spin-off of the spin-off to feature a senior bachelorette.

Sagora Senior LivingEnter Sagora Senior Living, where love is celebrated at any age. The Fort Worth, Texas-based company took the bull by the horns, so to speak, and launched its own Silver Bachelorette contest. Sagora’s 62 communities nationwide nominated lucky lady residents, with the grand prize being a dinner-and-movie date and the honor of being the Sagora Silver Bachelorette.

And now we can reveal that Ms. Dorothy Robertson of Bristol Park at Eagle Mountain in Fort Worth has been crowned the first Sagora Silver Bachelorette!

Sagora Senior LivingSagora Silver Bachelorette Robertson says she’s “humbled and honored to win,” and very “thankful for all who voted” for her. She won a bouquet of red roses, dinner for two out on the town, chocolates, and two tickets to a movie of her choice. Unlike the TV show, Ms. Robertson didn’t already have her beau picked out, so at press time she was still deciding which lucky bachelor would accompany her to dinner and the movie. And will there be a second date? Inquiring minds will have to wait and find out.

An active and engaged resident at Eagle Mountain, Robertson enjoys puzzles, playing Bingo, and attending events with her family, of which she is most proud; she adores her two daughters, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

“Dorothy is truly an amazing lady, and we are excited to honor her as our first Sagora Silver Bachelorette!” said Sagora Vice President of Sales and Marketing Lynn Wagner in a press release.
