Valage Senior Living at Carson Valley Announces Hiring of Tsanos and Malekos-Smith

MINDEN, NV — Valage Senior Living at Carson Valley, an Integral Senior Living community opening this fall, has announced in a press release the addition of Tamra Tsanos as executive director and Karen Malekos-Smith as director of sales and marketing.
Tsanos brings over 13 years of experience in senior living, including roles at Alzheimer’s Services of the East Bay, Brookdale Senior Living, Mercy Retirement and Care Center, and Belmont Village Senior Living. Committed to creating innovative lifestyle programs, she plans to provide a fun, supportive environment for residents. Tsanos also aims to enhance resident safety through collaborations with third-party therapy providers and the integration of cutting-edge technology, such as the SafelyYou fall monitoring system.

Malekos-Smith, with a three-decade career in advocating for families and seniors, has held leadership roles at nationally recognized senior living communities spanning all levels of care. She also served as the clinical manager of speech, language pathology & audiology at Mills-Peninsula Health Services and later as the director of donor relations at Mills-Peninsula Hospital Foundation, championing numerous philanthropic and community outreach projects.
Valage at Carson Valley will offer Integral Senior Living’s signature programs, including Elevate Dining, Vibrant Life and Generations Memory Care, promoting connections and a sense of belonging. Future residents will also enjoy an open-concept design, resort-style spaces, an outdoor terrace, a dog park, an in-house theater, and a salon and spa.

The area’s newest senior living community will employ more than 60 full-time employees, including an in-house chef and culinary team, an activities and wellness team, and a dedicated nursing staff. The community looks forward to welcoming its first residents in fall 2024 and becoming an integral part of the Minden community.
