Woodbine Introduces Clinical Concierge Program with Strategic Hire

August 31, 2022

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Pairing its clinical excellence with enhanced communication and support for residents and their families, Woodbine Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Alexandria has introduced a clinical concierge program and welcomed Terra Reeves, RN, as its nurse concierge. Located at 2729 King St., the skilled nursing facility provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.

Woodbine’s clinical concierge program facilitates seamless communication among residents, their caregivers and the facility’s nursing and medical staff. As the nurse concierge, Reeves assists in educating residents on their medical conditions and medications. She also liaises with residents’ caregivers, providing regular updates—including changes in condition—and answering any questions they may have.

“For me, there’s no greater feeling than serving as the voice for residents and their families,” said Reeves. “I am here to assist with any questions and communicate with our talented team at Woodbine, further enabling us to provide excellence in care. My role is focused on customer service, education for families and supporting overall morale for our residents—I love it!”

Reeves brings extensive experience as a clinician and leader to the role, having previously worked for 10 years as a floor supervisor and charge nurse in long-term care facilities; she is also trained as a lead in wound care. In addition, Reeves has significant nursing experience in hematology, oncology and internal medicine, and she worked as a CNA for nearly a decade prior to earning her RN at Southeastern Community College in Keokuk, Iowa.

Woodbine developed its specialized programming with Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports the facility. “Woodbine’s clinical concierge program is one of a kind in the area,” said Marquis’ Megan Shilling, regional director of market development. “The facility is delighted to welcome Terra as its first nurse concierge. Her nursing expertise, warm manner and dedication to patient care and advocacy are perfect for this expanded role.”

Woodbine maintains a five-star rating in quality measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and was recognized as one of Virginia’s top nursing homes in Newsweek’s America’s Best Nursing Homes 2022 for the third consecutive year. It has the state’s largest licensed skilled nursing capacity.
